Rebuilding self-worth after a narcissistic relationship

16 September 2026 · Caroline

“I actually know that I'm valuable.” I hear this sentence often, followed straight away by: “But I just don't feel it.” It's exactly this gap between knowing and feeling that we work on together after a narcissistic relationship.

Why thinking alone isn't enough

Self-worth that has been damaged in a toxic relationship doesn't live in the mind but in the nervous system and in old body memories. That's why “positive thinking” alone often only helps to a limited extent; it needs an approach that goes deeper.

Where I start in my practice

I combine coaching conversations, in which we understand the thought patterns that have formed, with inner child work for the emotional level and energy work for the physical level. This combination ensures that change is not only understood but also felt.

Small signs of real progress

Genuinely rebuilding self-worth rarely looks spectacular. It's the small moments: saying no without feeling guilty for days. Simply accepting a compliment instead of brushing it off. Making a decision without first gathering ten opinions. These small moments are exactly what we make visible together.
